His father Colin Firth has won a legion of (mostly female) fans in films such as Bridget Jones, Pride and Prejudice and the Oscar winning drama The King's Speech, and now Will Firth is hoping to replicate his success.

The 25 year old, whose mother is Canadian-American actress and novelist Meg Tilly, grew up in Vancouver and moved to London five years ago to study at drama school East 15, where he appeared in several productions including King Lear and Robin Hood. Now the up and comer, who insists his acting style is nothing like his father's, has won his first film role - he recently wrapped filming on Brit rom-com Love Type D, the feature debut of director Sasha Collington. Its release is tba but in the meantime, watch this space.
